A coastal pub with sea views is getting a six-figure makeover to bring it up to modern standards ahead of a reopening later this month.
The Bamburgh, a Greene King venue on Bamburgh Avenue in South Shields, closed temporarily on Monday, October 12, to allow the improvements to take place and is expected to reopen later this month.
The makeover will include upgrades both inside and out, aiming to boost the pub’s appeal and add “modern-day comforts” for today’s customers.
A statement from the pub said: "We're now closed while we give the Bamburgh an exciting new look.
"Over the next few weeks, we'll be working hard behind the scenes to transform the pub, and we can't wait to take you along for the journey.
"We'll be sharing regular updates and sneak peeks as things progress, so keep checking back to see the transformation take shape."
