Concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman, prompting a major police incident and closing part of the A1(M) in County Durham.
A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital after officers attended the A1(M) near junction 62 at Carrville early on Sunday (October 11).
Officers were called after concerns were raised for the woman’s welfare.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "At approximately 5.30am on Sunday, officers attended the A1(M) at Carrville relating to a call for concern over the welfare of a woman.
"A woman in her 20s was subsequently taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle."

Durham Police previously said the closure formed part of a separate police-led incident unrelated to an earlier crash on the motorway.
The A1(M) had already been closed in both directions between junction 60 at Bradbury and junction 61 at Bowburn after a serious single-vehicle crash shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 10.
The two incidents left a large section of the motorway closed throughout Sunday morning.
