A County Durham hotel has unveiled a new cosy retreat created from former staff quarters after a six-figure makeover.
Bowburn Hall Hotel, near Durham, has converted the old staff quarters into cottage suites, already proving popular with brides-to-be on the night before their weddings.
The hotel, sister venue to Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa and Hardwick Hall Hotel near Sedgefield, says the cottage offers a private retreat alongside its existing rooms and woodland lodges.

The cottage can sleep up to eight people and features three bedrooms, a large fold-down bed in the living room and a dedicated dressing room complete with make-up and hair stations.
Guests can also make use of an outdoor hot tub and sauna in a private courtyard garden.
While the accommodation has become a popular choice for wedding parties, it is also available for family gatherings, short breaks and corporate retreats.

Guests can book the cottage as a whole or split it into a one-bedroom studio and a two-bedroom suite.
The development adds to the hotel's existing accommodation offering, which includes 20 bedrooms in the main house and five woodland lodges.
Tom Pallister, general manager at Bowburn Hall Hotel, said the response from guests had been positive.

He said: "Despite only being open for a short time, it's had a fantastic reception.
"For brides who want to spend the night before their wedding with their bridesmaids or friends it's the perfect place.
"They can have food in the cottage if they don't want to eat in the hotel or we can arrange special packages for them like pizza and prosecco.
"It means they are right on site for their special day and can start it feeling relaxed with their best friends."
