Walls, booths and furniture have been ripped out of the former Yarm Tomahawk as work begins on a new Pan-Asian restaurant.
A refit is well underway at Fairfax Court on Lotus Lounge, a new cocktail bar and restaurant opening later this month.
The new venture is a rebrand of Little Lotus, which had been based at Eaglescliffe’s Sunningdale shops since its opening in October 2024.
Run by siblings Charlie and Sadie Eggleston, the restaurant, which shut in August ahead of the relocation, has proved popular for its dishes influenced by Thai, Cantonese and Japanese food.
New pictures show the major revamp work inside the restaurant and bar, with almost all furnishings and fittings ripped out.

Bosses have called the refurbishment a “new chapter”, with deliveries already arriving ahead of Lotus Lounge’s “new era” later this month.
To make way for the move, Tomahawk Steakhouse, which is owned by the duo’s dad Howard Eggleston, will move upstairs and merge with Spanish food spot La Terraza.

La Terraza, which has garnered rave reviews since opening last October, will close for a week before reopening with a merged menu on October 19.
The original Lotus Lounge first opened in Yarm in July 2012 and was headed up by Mr Eggleston. It ran for several years before gradually being changed into a full Tomahawk venue.

Announcing the news last week, Lotus Lounge said: “We're going back to where it all began… Lotus Lounge is taking over Tomahawk Yarm from this October!

“We're excited to be going back to our roots and bringing Lotus Lounge home to Yarm.
“Expect a Pan-Asian restaurant and cocktail bar offering Thai, Cantonese and Japanese influences, with a late-night licence until 2am.
