A seven-year-old girl’s winning road safety sign has gone up at a new North East housing development, helping remind drivers to take care.
Westgarth Primary School pupil Edith designed the sign in a Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire competition promoting safer driving around the Marske Sands development in Marske-by-the-Sea.
Rachael Smith, headteacher at Westgarth Primary School, said: "We're very grateful to have partnered with Taylor Wimpey on this competition.
"It has encouraged our children to make a positive impact in their community and helped enhance safety in the local area, particularly during school hours."
She said: "Edith’s design was incredible and we're delighted to see her sign now installed in the development. This competition has highlighted the importance of encouraging responsible driving and has educated the pupils about road safety."
Nicki Hope, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire’s sales and marketing director, praised the pupils for getting involved.
