Mystery of reopening date for 'fantastically authentic' restaurant in Harrogate

Harrogate diners eagerly anticipating the relaunch of an independent restaurant are wondering when it will reopen.

Readers are asking what has happened to a fantastically authentic restaurant in the heart of Harrogate which closed months ago for renovations.

Independent Mediterranean restaurant and bar Dinos first opened at 7 Station Bridge in December 2024.

Independent Mediterranean restaurant and bar Dinos first opened at 7 Station Bridge in December 2024, taking over the unit vacated by the former Saranda Bar and Grill.

The restaurant quickly became popular with diners for warm hospitality and its fusion of Italian, Turkish, and Greek cuisine, using quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods that reflect the shared culinary heritage of the region.

But the venue has been closed since January 2026 for a refurbishment with a note attached to the window saying: "Big changes are coming to Dinos.”

Now the signage has come down and the large window frontage of the restaurant has been completely covered in whitewash.

As the weeks have passed since it closed for refurbishment, customers have posted their concerns online.

One booking claimed on Tripadvisor the building was closed when they turned up.

Another customer posted that the restaurant’s "website isn’t working".

The heading on Tripadvisor says: "Dino's Mediterranean - CLOSED".

But on Google it says “Temporarily closed”.

The Harrogate Advertiser is awaiting an update on when this popular family-run restaurant will reopen.
