A cordon has been lifted near a York museum after a major police incident saw two people taken to hospital and armed officers swarm parts of the city.
North Yorkshire Police said a bladed weapon was seen during an altercation involving three men on Sunday (October 11) in Leeman Road, resulting in the nearby Park Street, next to the National Railway Museum, being cordoned off.
The force said two people were taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening after officers were called to the scene at around 2.20pm.
Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of serious assault and possession of an offensive weapon in public place at Hull Railway Station on Sunday afternoon in connection with the altercation in Leeman Road.

It followed a manhunt which saw armed police, dog units and officers from the North Yorkshire and Humberside police forces swoop in York city centre.
Police said inquiries remain ongoing into the incident on Sunday.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote reference 12260200081,” a police spokesperson said.
A cordon was in place in Park Street throughout Sunday afternoon and has since been lifted with the road back open.
At least three police cars, two ambulances and another ambulance service car were on the scene in Park Street at about 3pm on Sunday.
The National Railway Museum’s road train, used to take people from the museum to York Minster, was also parked inside the cordon.

Speaking from Park Street on Sunday afternoon, an eyewitness said: “There was a heavy presence from the emergency services here at 3pm.
“A police cordon is in place in Park Street stretching around to Leeman Road.
“I could see at least three police cars, two ambulances and another ambulance vehicle at 3pm.
“By 3.20pm, both ambulances and the ambulance service’s car had left the scene.
“The railway museum’s road train remains inside the cordon but it appears that the incident is starting to be scaled back.
“Police are turning drivers around. It’s a quiet road so the main traffic I saw was taxis dropping people off for the railway museum. There are still people heading to the railway museum.
“I hope everyone is OK.”
