Children and staff have returned to their classrooms to find themselves in a new school.
St Peter’s Junior School in York, part of the St Peter’s School community, launched in September and caters for children aged three to 11, from pre-school through to Year 6.

Phil Hardy, head of St Peter’s Junior School, said: "We want every child to arrive each morning excited about the day ahead and leave each afternoon with stories to tell, new ideas to explore and a genuine sense that they belong to something special.
"Childhood is one of life's most precious seasons, and at St Peter’s Junior School we are committed to protecting that for every child while helping them develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need for the future."

The community on its site on Bootham long provided education for the age range in separate preparatory and junior schools. The site also houses St Peter's Senior School.
In September, a threat was made to children by a woman believed to be camping or living rough close to school grounds and the school was put under lockdown as a precautionary measure.
The launch of St Peter's Junior School is the second major development announced this month in York's private schools.
Last week, Bootham School, also on Bootham, announced its plans to unite all its students on one campus.

Music remains central to the school’s ethos, supported by its long-standing partnership with York Minster and the cathedral choir, whose choristers continue to receive their education at St Peter’s.
The school also offers outdoor learning opportunities, educational visits, and residential experiences including Forest School sessions, cultural exchanges in Spain, and optional ski trips.
