If you are visiting Scarborough, you will most likely head straight to the beach for the day.
However, the seaside resort has plenty of other things to see and do, including taking a trip to Peasholm Park.
Inspired by East Asia, Peasholm Park is just a few minutes’ walk away from the beach and is “worth a visit”.
What is Peasholm Park like?
Peasholm Park features a “beautiful system of streams” as well as waterfalls and miniature bridges to explore.
The pathways are lined with trees, and the gardens are described as being “mystical”.
The park is home to a range of rare trees and an array of wildlife to see including grey squirrels, ducks, swans, and geese.
In the park, there is a lake that surrounds a tree-covered island that can be accessed by a bridge.

On the island, you can find a hidden garden with a quiet pond and a large pagoda offering beautiful views of the rest of the park.
You can hire rowing boats or dragon pedalos from the Boat Deck or try out the 18-hole mini golf course with your family.
If you need some food after exploring the park, you can stop off at Peasholm Café, which serves hot and cold food with seating overlooking the island waterfall and pagoda.
There is also the Peasholm Kiosk if you fancy an ice lolly or drink to keep you going on your walk.
