A MODEL is swapping hard hats for high heels as she takes on a major modelling competition this week.

Amy Frankish, 25, from Pocklington, will compete in the Miss British Isles 2026 national final on Sunday (October 11) at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Chester.

Whilst a model outside of York, Amy works a Field Sales Executive for The Ashcourt Group (who are sponsoring her competition bid), specialising in the sale of concrete, aggregates and muck-away services.

She said: "It’s a role that has helped me to embrace the perfect contrast of hard hats over high heels - making sure I feel just as comfortable on a construction site as I am in the spotlight.

"Outside of work, I'm passionate about fitness and practice both jujitsu and weight training - something which I think reflects my strength, discipline and competitive spirit."

In the final on Sunday, she will be up against finalists from across the British Isles and will model evening and cocktail dresses on the catwalk.

If she wins the title, Amy will receive a holiday in Marbella, paid UK modelling work, and introductions to top agencies among other prizes.

Previous winners have been signed by top modelling agencies, taken part in major TV shows, and even appeared in a Bollywood film.

Amy added: "I’ve always been interested in acting and modelling and thought it would be a fun experience, so I decided to go for it! It’s been great. The semi finals were in April and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish."
