WROSE motocross talent Roy Townley has battled through the pain barrier to come second in the British Championship.
The 11-year-old, who attends Titus Salt School, lacerated his spleen in a horrific crash earlier this year.
And a sixth-placed finish in the final round of MX GB Youth Junior Championship at Foxhill secured him second in the overall standings behind Jack Waters.
Roy was sporting a wrist injury going into the event, with scans later revealing it was fractured.
And Roy has been taking his talents from Bradford on to the world stage too, having represented Great Britain in the Czech Republic this summer.
Roy has done exceptionally well this year and it is nice to see him claim a British silver medal, after suffering an exceptional amount of bad luck this year.

His family told us: “He has had a fantastic journey on his 65cc Gasgas.
“He was selected for team GB and rode against the best in the world in the Czech Republic.
“Unfortunately, he crashed while leading a race and was run over by another rider sustaining a lacerated spleen and bruised lungs.
“Despite this he returned to the track just a few weeks later to continue the British nationals.
“He then unfortunately had a big crash over a jump and buckle fractured his wrist just five weeks before the British final round at Foxhill.
“Yet he rode really well there and managed to secure second overall in the British youth championship.
“After returning home from Foxhill, his wrist was yet again sore and we have learned it’s actually re-fractured.”
Roy’s family also wanted to paint the sport in a positive light.
They added: “As a family we are just so proud of him and what he’s achieved.
“Dirt bikes get such a bad reputation around Bradford but done properly and safely it can lead to a great career.”
