The 35-year-old shared photographs of the birth on Instagram and said it had been "not quite as straightforward as planned".

Announcing Clark's arrival, she wrote: "Arriving a little earlier than expected and not quite as straightforward as planned, our little family of four was made complete on Monday.

"Our hearts have never been so full, and I'd do it all again for you, Clark."

Scarlett and Scott are already parents to their three-year-old son, Jude.

The star has spoken openly about her fertility struggles, saying it took four years for her and Scott to conceive Jude and they were unsure whether they could have another child.

Speaking before Clark's birth, she said: "Because it took us so long to have Jude and we were just so grateful that we had Jude, we honestly didn't know if a second child would ever happen for us.

"But actually, it happened pretty quickly for us. So I was like maybe we could have a third child. I wouldn't say no.

"I always craved that big family energy and I just love it. I'd have ten if I could."

The TV presenter had hoped for another son so Jude could have a brother.

She said: "All my family and friends knew I wanted another boy. Of course it would've been wonderful to have had a girl – a healthy baby is all that matters – but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother.

"I'm just so happy for him. He's got someone to share his life with now."
