Doctors have announced that a GP surgery in York will be closed from a week on Monday until after the New Year.
Water Lane Surgery in Clifton will shut its doors to patients from Monday October 19 until approximately the middle of January.
It has not announced the exact reopening date.
In a statement, York Medical Group, which runs the surgery and six others in York, said the three-month closure was to allow essential building improvement work at the Clifton site.
“The decision has been made to temporarily close the site to minimise disruption during the works and to ensure the safety of both patients and staff while construction activities are taking place,” the statement says.
“During this period, our other surgery sites will remain open and continue to provide patient services as normal.”
Patients registered at Water Lane will be able to use other surgeries run by the group during the closure.
Staff at Water Lane will be contacting patients with existing appointments on or after October 19 to tell them where they can see a doctor or nurse and give them any other information they need.
Flu vaccination clinics planned for October 24, two weeks today (Saturday) will go ahead as planned.

The statement said: “We understand that this temporary closure may cause some inconvenience and would like to sincerely apologise for any disruption.
“However, these essential works are necessary to improve our facilities and ensure we can continue to provide a safe, modern, and welcoming environment for our patients and staff.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding whilst these improvements are completed.
“Although there will be some short-term disruption, our other surgeries will remain open and available to support patients throughout this period. We look forward to welcoming patients back to an improved Water Lane Surgery once the works are finished.”
York Medical Group runs six surgeries in the city, plus one at York St John University.
The surgery locations are: Tower Court Surgery on Oakdale, Clifton Moor; 32 Clifton Surgery on the road called Clifton; Monkgate Surgery on Monkgate; Acomb Surgery on Acomb Road near Acomb shops; Woodthorpe Surgery, on Moorcroft Road, Woodthorpe and Water Lane Surgery.
The group has 38 doctors as well as nurses, advanced clinical practitioners, pharmacists, healthcare professionals, a complex care team, receptionists and support and administrative staff.
