Award-winning musician Phil Beer will perform at Howden’s Shire Hall as part of the Howden Lives 40th anniversary celebrations.
The concert, taking place on Saturday, October 17, is part of a wider programme of events marking four decades of live music in the town.
Phil Beer, best known as a founder of the folk duo Show of Hands, is a multi-instrumentalist and composer with a career spanning 45 years.
An ambassador for acoustic roots music and a skilled fiddler and guitarist, he has performed with The Albion Band, Mike Oldfield, and even The Rolling Stones.
Despite his extensive achievements, Mr Beer said: "The trick is to design what you do in order to accommodate your limitations.
"That's why I don’t teach.
"I leave that to the pros.
"I’m too busy gigging or making albums anyway."
Tickets are priced at £20 and are available from www.howden-live.com or via the Shire Hall on 01430 432510.
