A MAIN York road is set to be closed next week for an urgent repair to a burst water main.
Monkgate in York city centre will be shut in both directions from Monday (October 12) until Tuesday morning (October 13) whilst repairs are carried out.
It will take place from 10:30am, just before the A1036 junction, until 6am the next day.

The closure is in place to allow Yorkshire Water and its contractor, M Group, to repair the burst main and then reinstate the carriageway.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: "We are working closely with our contract partner and local highways team to complete these repairs and reconstruction as quickly as possible.
"We absolutely appreciate that this is a busy route and would like to apologise for the disruption this may cause.
"We would like to thank local residents and road users for their patience and understanding as we undertake this crucial repair."
A diversion is in place via Aldwark, St Maurices Road, and Foss Bank, and Yorkshire Water added that 'residents have been made aware that access will not be available whilst the teams are working in the area.'
