Parts of York city centre have seen some additional pre-seasonal glow as preparations are underway for a bright and colourful annual festival.
York’s Winter Lights are currently being installed across the city centre, ahead of their official switch-on, which will take place on Thursday, November 12.
The scheme, delivered by York BID in partnership with Make It York, aims to bring festive cheer to the streets throughout the winter.

A spokesman for York BID said: "The York Winter Lights scheme is currently being installed across the city centre."
"The lights are switched on for ease of installation, and then turned off, ahead of the switch-on."
Press Camera Club member Kieran Delaney captured the essence and bustle of York's city centre streets of last year's event.
