A BAND who supported one of the UK's most iconic singers on a Grammy winning album are set to kick off a nationwide tour in York later this month.

The Amy Winehouse Band, featuring original members who performed and recorded with the late singer, will kick off their Back in Black Tour in York on October 22.

Back to Black, released in 2006, earned Winehouse five Grammy Awards and saw massive critical and commercial success worldwide.

  • New inclusive play space to open in North Yorkshire town centre

The tour marks 20 years since the album's release and directly follows a special one-off concert at the Roundhouse in Camden on October 21 for a show that will feature Mark Ronson, among other guests, performing the album in full.

Dale Davis, Amy’s long-time musical director and bass player, said: "I can’t believe that it’s the 20th anniversary of Back To Black this year.

"When I congratulated Amy on the success of this incredible album, she said to me, not with any arrogance: 'I knew what I was doing', and at that moment, I realised that she knew exactly what she had created.

"It’s still an honour, pleasure and privilege to be performing these songs, from this timeless classic."

The Amy Winehouse Band completed a sold-out tour of the UK in 2025, alongside multiple tours and festival appearances across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America over recent years.

The UK tour will continue into 2027, with the band performing across the country into March
