FROM judging dog shows to taking part in cookery demonstrations, Amanda Owen, aka the Yorkshire Shepherdess and star of TV show Our Yorkshire Farm, has become a national favourite.

As shown in our gallery of photos of Amanda over the years out and about in Yorkshire, she is the first to support local events and celebrate all that's best of God's Own County.

Amanda, former husband Clive and their nine children originally became household names through Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, which followed their unconventional family life at remote Ravenseat in Swaledale.

She first hit fame through her Twitter social media account where she used the name "The Yorkshire Shepherdess"; this led to her writing a book of the same title.

Since then she has written four more books and become a regular on TV, fronting Our Yorkshire Farm from 2018–2021 and Amanda Owen's Farming Lives in 2023.

More recently, fans have been enjoying Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, following Amanda, her ex-husband Clive, and their children renovating a derelict farmhouse.

Her family life today is a world away from her own childhood. She grew up in the suburbs of Huddersfield – but always loved the countryside.

A favourite author was North Yorkshire's James Herriot and she read his books growing up.

The new season of Our Farm Next Door began on October 5 on Channel 4
