A stage adaptation of Midsomer Murders is coming to York as part of its 2027 UK and Ireland tour.
The Killings at Badger’s Drift, directed by Guy Unsworth, will run at the Grand Opera House from Wednesday, June 30, to Saturday, July 3, and will see Daniel Casey reprise his role as Inspector Tom Barnaby.
Mr Casey said: "Since returning to the world of Midsomer last October, it has been such a delight to see the incredible reaction of people around the UK and Ireland to our theatre version of The Killings at Badger’s Drift.
"One of the highlights of last year’s tour was having my lovely friend and mentor John Nettles come and see the show in Truro, getting his seal of approval was hugely important to me.
"I can’t quite believe it will be the 30th anniversary of the TV pilot and 40th anniversary of Caroline Graham’s novel The Killings at Badger’s Drift in 2027."
The stage show is based on Caroline Graham’s original novel and the long-running ITV television series.
It was critically acclaimed during its 2025/26 tour and broke box office records.
Produced by Nicholson Green Productions and Colin Ingram Ltd, the play will return to theatres across the UK and Ireland from April 2027.
