Grantley Hall has been selected to serve LOUIS XIII Black Pearl – an exceptionally rare new release from LOUIS XIII Cognac – by the glass.
Limited to just 398 decanters worldwide and 27 in the UK, Grantley guests can order the new Black Pearl by the glass across the hotel’s restaurants and bars, offering rare access to one of the world’s most exclusive Cognacs.
'Inspired by Le Grollet, the historic cellar where the story of LOUIS XIII began, at the heart of this edition lies an exceptionally rare eau-de-vie selected by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau from the House’s historic reserves,' says Grantley Hall.
'It is the only eau-de-vie in the collection identified as retaining the distinctive character of Le Grollet, a remarkable legacy passed down to Loiseau by his predecessor, Pierrette Trichet.
'The release is presented in a reimagined LOUIS XIII decanter, distinguished by midnight-blue reflections inspired by the mystery, depth and darkness of Le Grollet.
'At Grantley Hall, it will be showcased within a purpose-built cooling cellar in the Norton Bar, allowing the cognac to rest at temperatures as low as 13°c, recreating the conditions of Le Grollet.
'The cooling cellar will be housed in a bespoke trolley designed to complement the bar’s interiors, finished in American walnut with brushed brass and deep red detailing to reflect the Norton Bar’s rich, refined aesthetic, while allowing the decanter to be brought directly to guests across the hotel’s restaurants and bars for a personalised and immersive serving ritual.'
The hotel, near Ripon, is currently the only venue in the world to house every LOUIS XIII format, from the Miniature 5cl to the ultra-rare Rare Cask 42.1.
