Harrogate audiences are looking forward to the greatest love songs from 100 years
The popular Harrogate Theatre Choir are ‘upsizing’ to take their cabaret-style hit show to a bigger venue
The forthcoming show at The Crown Hotel on Sunday, October 18 follows the debut of Love Stories as a brand-new production in February 2026, selling out its two-night run at Harrogate Theatre Studio.

The choir feel that The Crown is the ideal venue for this production: an intimate cabaret-style experience combining drama, theatre, beautiful solos, rousing ensembles as the songs come to life through entertaining theatrical vignettes.
Catherine Field-Leather, Musical Director of Harrogate Theatre Choir, said: “ The show explores the fascinating psychology of love through the greatest love songs from 100 years of stage and screen.
“From the passion of first romance to the angst of one-sided love and the pathos of a love that fades, the performance aims to bypass social conditioning and directly connect with your emotions. “
Established in 2009 when a small group of local singers performed with a theatre company named LipService, Harrogate Theatre Choir regularly earns race reviews.
It was felt the size of Harrogate Theatre Studio limited the number of singers they could use.
As a result, plans for a larger Autumn sequel featuring the full choir were always part of the vision.
Developed over almost 12 months of refining the songs and introducing brand-new material to the repertoire, the sequel raises the bar with a full cast and an evening that promises to be bigger and bolder than the first.
Audiences can expect classic love songs like My Funny Valentine, Shallow, One Hand One Heart, Unexpected Song, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, The Way We Were, I Don’t Know How To Love Him and many more, as the productoin cover the lows, the might-have-beens, and the obsessional I-feel-like-singing highs, of being in love.
