A MAIN road in North Yorkshire is closed both ways due to a serious crash.
Emergency services are at the scene of the incident on the A64 between Malton and York.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "At this time the road is closed in both directions near High Hutton, just south of Malton.
"Vehicles are being diverted off via Huttons Ambo. However, traffic in the area will be extremely heavy for some time.
"Please find alternative routes for your journeys, and avoid this area while we work to make sure everyone is safe. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
