PHOTOS of Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen and Ukranian refugees in York have made the final of a photography competition.

We asked members of the York Press Camera Club to share photos that told a story.

Dawn Clements posted a photo of the Yorkshire Shepherdess and four of her children judging at the York Dog Show at York Museum Gardens last month.

Amanda Owen, star of Channel 4's Our Farm Next Door and Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, visited Museum Gardens for the show on September 20.

The author and TV presenter visited York with her children and helped pick the Handsomest Dog, Fanciest Female, Cutest Puppy and Best Trick.

The event, organised by York Museums Trust in partnership with York Dog Park, saw a pop-up shopping village created in the park with treats, toys and accessories on sale. There were also information stalls and talks from veterinary experts.

Other photos in our competition, on the theme of 'storytime' showed the Flying Scotsman arriving in Scarborough and a gathering of the Watcher statues in York Minster.

Our winning portrait was of two Ukrainians in York with flowers in their hair, taken by Carys Tew, who has won our £50 first prize.
