A restaurant in York has been praised for having the “best Sunday roast” in the city.
As the weather gets cooler, you might start craving a Sunday roast with York having plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy one in.
If you want a “delightful” Sunday roast, you will want to visit the Old Liquor Store, which can be found in the old Terry’s chocolate factory.
What is the Old Liquor Store like?
The Old Liquor Store offers a Sunday lunch with “a modern touch, served in a relaxed and welcoming setting”.
You can choose between sirloin of Yorkshire reared beef, tarragon buttered chicken breast, and basil pesto and black garlic baked portobello mushroom.
All of the roasts come with garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, baked cauliflower and Isle of Mull cheddar gratin, maple glazed roots, and buttered greens.
The restaurant was visited by the Yorkshire Food Guide, who reviewed the Sunday roast and said: “The meats were cooked perfectly and were served with some seriously good gravy.
“We also absolutely loved this smoked bacon and juniper hispi cabbage.”
To finish off your meal, you can pick one of the desserts including the Terry’s Chocolate Orange sundae, limoncello meringue posset, and a selection of cheeses.
Alongside its roasts, you can also visit the Old Liquor Store for brunch and dinner throughout the week.
