National Trust places across York are celebrating harvest with a range of seasonal events and activities inspired by the colours, flavours and abundance of autumn.
As gardens and orchards fill with seasonal produce, visitors can enjoy harvest displays, discover stories from the season and experience the best of autumn at Beningbrough, Nunnington Hall and Goddards.

At Beningbrough (7-11, 14-18 October, 10am – 5pm), visitors can explore a harvest display celebrating produce grown in the walled garden. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, guided tours offer the chance to discover the fruits, vegetables and flowers cultivated throughout the year, while tastings bring the flavours of the season to life. Additional activities on weekends include jam and curd tastings and the opportunity to purchase dried
flowers grown and harvested from Beningbrough’s own cutting garden.
Over at Nunnington Hall (17-18 October, 10.30 – 4pm), a special harvest weekend will celebrate the changing season with apple tastings, guided tours and opportunities to discover more about harvest traditions. Visitors can explore the organic garden as it transitions into
autumn and learn how the garden team cares for the space throughout the year.

At Goddards (3-4 October, 11am-4pm), harvest celebrations will focus on the orchard, home to varieties of apples that Noel Terry himself would have known. Guided walks will reveal why
particular varieties were chosen, how the orchard has developed over time, and the work involved in caring for the trees. Visitors can also enjoy seasonal juice tastings from the harvested apples.
Harvest events will take place throughout October, offering opportunities to discover
seasonal produce, meet gardening teams and enjoy the colours of autumn across York’s National Trust places.
