Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen to return to Grassington for new book signing

THE Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen is due to make a popular return visit to Grassington to sign copies of her new books.

The writer and presenter will be at the Stripey Badger bookshop on Sunday, October 25 when she will be signing copies of and talking about Cosy Bedtime Stories from the Farm and Christmas Tales from the Farm.

In Cosy Bedtime Stories from the Farm, the Yorkshire Shepherdess offers a glimpse into life on her real working farm, Ravenseat Farm, from the busy days to the peaceful moments spent in nature.

While the paperback Christmas Tales from the Farm is a heart-warming collection of real-life stories about all the countryside characters – both two legged and four – you'll find on and around Ravenseat Farm, and just how fun life can be when everyone mucks in together.

Bookshop owner Linda Furniss said: "Amanda Owen is now a regular at The Stripey Badger Bookshop and is loved by all our customers who come to see her - she chats to each and everyone of them.

"It will be so good to see her again. Her stories for children taken from her television show are so popular, especially since tales of all creatures great and small are so popular right now."

Also coming up, Yorkshire Dales Poet John Taylor launches a dark new poetry collection Nephilim at the Stripey Badger on Monday, November 2.

Ancient mythology, fallen angels and the darker corners of human experience come together in his new poetry collection inspired by the mysterious Book of Enoch.

Drawing its inspiration from the strange mythology surrounding the Watchers, fallen angels and their legendary offspring, the Nephilim collection takes material thousands of years old and reimagines it through contemporary poetry.

Amanda Owen will be at the Stripey Badger on Sunday, October 25 from 12 to 2pm.
