A jury in a murder trial has been shown CCTV footage of a brutal attack that left the victim fatally injured.

In the video compilation screened at Sheffield Crown Court, a segment labelled "distressing content" showed Suhail Choudry running through narrow streets in Keighley as he was pursued by four armed figures.

The CCTV showed him on Flasby Street, on Cark Street, and finally on Sefton Place where he appeared to stumble and fall between a wooden fence and parked cars.

He was then immediately set upon by four assailants wielding what appear to be metal bars.

Together they repeatedly bludgeoned him for around a minute.

Two attackers then turned and left, followed by a third.

But the fourth continued the assault, raining down multiple further blows on Mr Choudry.

The attack, described as both "brutal" and "vicious" by prosecuting barrister John Harrison KC, left 35-year-old Mr Choudry with multiple skull fractures and extensive brain injuries, which he did not survive.

He died in hospital on February 11, three days after what the jury heard was a targeted attack.

Six men are on trial.

The video compilation also showed the aftermath of the attack as various vehicles left the scene.

During the trial opening, the jury heard how the "co-ordinated and pre-planned" attack involved three vehicles - a Ford Puma, a Lexus and a Volvo - being driven to East Avenue in Keighley at around 3am on February 8.

Mr Choudry was there in a Toyota Prius with two others.

The cars then effectively blocked in the Toyota, causing Mr Choudry and the others to get out and run before he was chased, caught, and fatally beaten.

The jury heard that, after the attack, the Puma, which had been stolen overnight on February 4/5 and was bearing false plates, was driven to Spencer Street in Keighley town centre.

The Lexus and the Volvo left the area and were driven to Tim Lane, between Oakworth and Haworth.

At around 3.35am the occupants of the Lexus and the Volvo were collected in an Audi A3.

The weapons used in the attack have not been recovered.

The trial before the Honourable Mr Justice Murray, which is estimated to last for at least five weeks, continues.
