A man who was repeatedly stabbed, pinned down and raped feared he was going to die, a court heard.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was held inside a County Durham home, where three people allegedly stabbed and sexually abused him.

Claire Dowson allegedly delivered the first stab wound, shouted "show him who we are" and urged Michael Boslem and John Hyde to join the attack, Teesside Crown Court heard.

The alleged victim told police that Hyde pinned him to a sofa while Boslem raped him and Dowson laughed.

Prosecutor Shaun Dodds said Boslem and Hyde admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent but denied raping the man at the Ushaw Moor house.

Jurors watched police body-worn camera footage recorded when officers arrived at Holly Park on April 18.

The footage showed the distressed man covered in blood as crowds gathered around the scene.

Mr Dodds said the incident began when the alleged victim went looking for a friend and Gemma Watson, the fourth defendant, lifted her top to reveal a knife in her waistband.

The jury heard that the man pushed her away before entering Dowson’s home.

In video-recorded evidence, the man said Boslem was the main attacker as he was repeatedly stabbed with kitchen knives.

He said his attackers forced him to strip before pinning him to the sofa and raping him.

“I was scared, I have never been so scared so much in my life,” he said.

Asked what happened, the man accused Hyde of holding him down while Boslem raped him.

The alleged victim told police: "I can’t see me coming back from this one."

In another police interview, the man was asked how he felt when he was attacked.

He said: “I thought I was dead. I didn’t for one second think I would leave that house alive.

“I didn’t see how I could.”

The jury heard that his alleged attackers stole a pendant containing his grandmother’s ashes, along with jewellery, a mobile phone and bank cards.

He told police that the defendants gave him clothes before kicking him out and forcing him to leave his own bloodstained clothes behind.

Asked why he believed he had been attacked, he told police he had been accused of stealing crack cocaine but denied the theft.

Boslem, of Skippers Meadows, Durham, admitted wounding with intent and theft. The 36-year-old denies a charge of rape.
