A popular Emmerdale star appeared to let slip that they’ll be leaving the ITV soap soon.
Talking on This Morning this week, Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle, mentioned that he’d be part of an "exit storyline".
Sharon Marshall, who regularly discusses the soaps, appeared on the show at the same time and didn’t let the comment slip under the radar.
Johnson attempted to mull over what he’d said but eventually came clean and admitted he’s leaving the ITV show after 7.5 years.
The actor said: “Seven and a half years.
“It’s been an incredible journey.
“I’ve loved every second of it.”
On how it feels to be leaving the show, he said: “Honestly, everyone says it’s like a big family, but it really is, and you know, I’ve had the most incredible time with the most amazing people, all the cast and crew, directors, everyone I had the fortune to work with.
“I’m 30 next year, and I feel it’s a perfect time in my life to start a new chapter and it’s daunting and scary because this industry is hard, but I’m excited to get out there and see what’s next.”
Sharing pictures with the This Morning presenters on Instagram, the Emmerdale star said he had a “lovely morning” on the show with “lovely people”.
In the comments, fans said they were “sorry” to see him leave the show: “Superb Interview a very Special Young Actor sorry he's leaving”.
Another commented: “Instead of bringing Samson back they should have kept you, would have loved to see how your relationship with Lewis progressed ??”.
This person said: “what can the public do to make you stay”.
While he teased what Vinny will get up to in next week’s episodes, he remained tight-lipped.
He told viewers that he’d be having “a good go” at music when he leaves Emmerdale after taking some time away from it.
Newsquest has approached ITV for comment.
