A high-energy brass band with a global following is set to headline a special fundraising night.

York’s New York Brass Band will perform on Friday, October 30, in support of Acorn Community Care.

The New Orleans-inspired brass band, known for their lively performances and festival appearances, has played at Glastonbury for the past nine years and entertained audiences at celebrity parties and weddings for the likes of Ellie Goulding, Pixie Lot, and Jamie Oliver.

"The last 3 years events were a brilliant success, and all the proceeds went to our charity Acorn Community Care which was a huge boost.

"As a small charity, these fundraising events are such a benefit to us and help us to keep providing an excellent service to the local community"

Formed by James Lancaster, the seven or eight-piece group brings together percussion, sax, trumpets, trombones, guitar and sousaphone for a signature sound.

Formed in 2010, the band has become a key part of the UK’s growing brass scene.
