Stockton Calling reveals first headline acts for 2027 festival

Stockton Calling 2027 announces Red Rum Club and Adult DVD as headliners for its multi-venue live music festival on March 27 in Stockton, with tickets on sale.

Music fans are being given their first look at Stockton Calling's 2027 line-up, with two major acts announced as headliners.

The multi-venue festival returns to Stockton on March 27, 2027, for more than ten hours of live music across the town centre.

Red Rum Club and Adult DVD are the festival's first confirmed headliners for 2027.

Chris Cobain of Tees Music Alliance said: "This is exactly the kind of announcement we wanted to start with.

"Red Rum Club are a brilliant live band who have built a huge following through years of touring, while Adult DVD are right in the middle of a really exciting moment.

"Their debut album has just arrived, they're playing packed rooms and there is a genuine feeling around them that you're watching a band moving very quickly.

"Putting them into The Georgian Theatre is what Stockton Calling is all about.

"You're going to get the chance to see a band at a really exciting point in their career in a brilliant, intimate venue."

Liverpool band Red Rum Club will headline ARC's main stage, while Leeds band Adult DVD will top the bill at The Georgian Theatre.

Red Rum Club are known for brass-driven indie, cinematic guitars and powerful choruses.

Fronted by Fran Doran, the band have toured extensively and played major festivals including Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds.

Their 2025 highlights included touring with The Wombats and playing an 11,000-capacity hometown show at Aintree Racecourse.

They are currently on a UK tour and will play London's O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 8.

Jimmy Beck of KU Promotions said: "Red Rum Club have been friends of ours for a long time and we've watched them grow into a band capable of commanding some seriously big stages.

"Having them headline ARC feels like a perfect fit.

"They've built their following the right way – through great records, touring and connecting with audiences – and they're exactly the sort of band we know will deliver a brilliant headline set at Stockton Calling."

Adult DVD will play Stockton Calling after releasing their debut album through Fat Possum Records on September 25.

The band blend indie, synths and '90s acid house influences and have been tipped as one of the UK's most promising new acts.

They have also completed debut tours of the US and Japan, appeared at SXSW and played Glastonbury, Green Man and End Of The Road.

Mr Beck said: "Then you've got Adult DVD at The Georgian Theatre, who are one of those bands everybody seems to be talking about right now.

"And this is only the start.

"We've got a lot more artists still to announce across the festival and we're really excited about how the 2027 line-up is coming together."

Stockton Calling has been a key date on the live music calendar since 2010, showcasing established acts and rising talent.

Previous festivals have featured Sam Fender, Self Esteem, Blossoms, Circa Waves and Reytons.

The 2026 festival featured more than 60 artists, including Hard-Fi, Young Rebel Set, Gurriers and The Molotovs.

Thousands of fans attended last year's event, moving between venues from lunchtime until late as the town centre became a live music circuit.

Ticket-holders can build their own schedules and move between stages throughout the day.
