The rescue forms one of several incidents featured in the episode, which also follows lifeboat crews in North Wales, Hampshire and the English Channel.

For people who know the Northumberland coast well, the episode offers a chance to see the Seahouses volunteers tackling the sort of emergency they train for year-round.

Seahouses Lifeboat Station has been part of the local community since 1827.

Today, the station operates both an all-weather lifeboat and an inshore lifeboat, with its crews having received four awards for gallantry.

The station is based at Seahouses Harbour, close to the boats that take visitors out towards the Farne Islands.

The latest episode is part of Saving Lives at Sea's 11th series.
