Extra tickets released for County Durham pumpkin patch after opening weekend success

Extra tickets have been released for one of County Durham's most popular autumn attractions after organisers revealed their fields are still packed with pumpkins.

East Grange Pumpkin Patch, a family-run farm attraction in High Shincliffe near Durham has announced additional availability for this year's pick-your-own pumpkin season after its opening weekend proved a hit with visitors.

The farm, which attracts thousands of families each autumn, has also added two extra opening dates during the October half-term holidays after checking the condition of the pumpkin patch.

Organisers said the fields were "looking fantastic", prompting them to release more tickets and open on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27.

A post shared by East Grange said: "We've checked the patch and it's looking fantastic, so we've released extra tickets and added Monday 26 and Tuesday, October 27 for half term."

The attraction combines the family's working farm with a seasonal pumpkin patch that allows visitors to pick their own pumpkins directly from the fields.

Visitors can explore the patch on the following dates:

    • Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11*
    • Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18*
    • Friday, October 23 to Tuesday, October 27*

The farm has reminded visitors that pre-booking is essential, with tickets costing £5 per car.

The cost is fully redeemable against pumpkins purchased on the day.

East Grange thanked visitors who attended its opening weekend and reassured those yet to visit that there were still plenty of pumpkins available.

Organisers said: "Thank you to everyone who came along to our opening day and filled their wheelbarrows.

"There are still plenty of pumpkins out in the field, and we can't wait to see you next weekend."
