Greggs customers in the North East will be able to order breakfast items for dinner this month after a popular menu change.

The Heinz x Greggs Brinner event will run from 4pm to 7pm on October 14 and 15 at 20 selected shops across the UK.

Customers will be able to order breakfast items after their usual timeframe.

Newcastle’s Neville Street and Grainger Street branches are among those taking part.

Customers can order bacon, sausage and omelette breakfast rolls, served with Heinz Tomato Ketchup or HP Sauce.

The items normally leave Greggs’ breakfast menu at 11am.

Zoe Harris, customer director at Greggs, said this collaboration was the "perfect excuse to give the people what they want," following customers constantly try to order from the breakfast menu after 11am.

On Instagram, Greggs said: "Are you that person who narrowly misses out on breakfast by just five hours?

"We’ve teamed up with Heinz to bring brinner to Greggs – that is, breakfast served for dinner of course."

It marks an exciting season for the bakery chain after they released their autumn menu in September and the first wave of their Christmas menu on October 1st.

Greggs' first location opened in 1951 in Gosforth, Newcastle, with the brand expanding into a beloved chain with more than 2600 UK locations, over 200 of those in the North East alone.
