A new cocktail bar offering themed brunches, sing-along cinema nights and cocktails in miniature bathtubs has revealed its opening date.
Mr Mix HQ, which has taken over the former Consett Registry Office on Medomsley Road, will officially launch on Friday, October 16.
Owner Dan confirmed the date on social media after months of renovation updates. He has built Mr Mix into a North East cocktail business over the past 12 years.
The launch night runs from 7pm until late, with live music, a welcome drink and canapés from Snakas.
Just 30 launch tickets remain.
Anyone who misses out will not have long to wait to see inside the venue.
On Saturday, October 17, Mr Mix HQ will host a "Have A Nosey Day", giving visitors their first chance to explore the bar and grab a drink.
Further events include a Rocky Horror sing-along cinema night on October 23 and a bottomless brunch with Juke Box Boy on October 24.
Sharing the announcement online, Dan wrote: "I've spent months showing you paint, bits of wood, sockets, random deliveries and the occasional breakdown.
"Very soon you get to see the actual thing."
The opening is the latest step in Dan’s business journey, which began after he was injured at work.
After falling down a cellar hatch and taking time off work, Dan was asked to provide cocktails at a friend’s party in 2014.
That one-off job grew into a mobile cocktail business that has expanded steadily over the past decade.
Now Dan is bringing that experience to a permanent venue in the heart of Consett.
Speaking previously about the project, Dan said: "I love the area and I know it's got so much potential; it's just people need to open their eyes a bit more and look at how they can support the businesses.
"I genuinely believe we're creating something Consett hasn't seen before.
"The support you've all shown already has blown me away.
"Now you know where HQ is, I hope you'll continue to get behind the project, share the journey, come to the events and help make it something our town can be proud of."
One of the venue’s quirks is a signature cocktail served in a pink bathtub because, according to Dan, "normal glassware is boring".
