A North East gym has raised more than £200 for the RNLI after putting members through a gruelling 90-minute fitness challenge in support of the charity's lifesaving work.

Twenty-nine participants took part in the Endure 90 workout at Exortus gym, based at Park View Industrial Estate, raising funds for the Hartlepool RNLI.

Ash Mc Fee, head coach and director at Exortus, said: "Its been a great 90 minute workout for a fantastic charity and I would like to thank everyone who part today.

"To make the event more challenging myself and coach Josh Noble wore RNLI inshore lifeboat dry suits. The charity is very close to our hearts at the gym as some of our members are RNLI volunteer crewmembers and I have often heard their pagers go off at the gym and watch them heading off to the boathouse."

Hartlepool RNLI coxswain Matt Adams, who is also a member of the gym, said: "The donations from those that took part in the event will help us play our part in saving lives at sea."
