The Golden Lion, one of York's oldest pubs, is temporarily closed for an autumn makeover.
Situated in Church Street near the renowned Shambles, the Greene King-owned establishment shut its doors to the public on October 5 to commence the renovations.
The revamp, scheduled to finish later this month, promises to maintain the pub's historic charm while introducing modern-day comforts.
The project will see improvements both inside and out, aimed at enhancing the pub's allure.
A Greene King spokesperson said: "There will be improvements both inside and out to boost the pub’s appeal."
The Golden Lion, a favourite among tourists, families, and sports enthusiasts, will continue to offer a diverse menu catering to various tastes and dietary needs.
Patrons can look forward to enjoying drinks with colleagues, lunch after a city tour, or catching live sports on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
The pub's famed live music and DJ nights are set to make a comeback.
Its roof terrace, ideal for outdoor drinks and dining, also remains a key feature.
The Golden Lion is actively seeking new, talented people to join its bar and kitchen teams, offering both full- and part-time job opportunities.
Interested individuals can apply directly through Greene King's official channels.
Customers can also pre-book their visits and explore the menu via the Greene King app, ready for when the pub reopens.
