Park and Ride numbers are rising as customer confidence reaches an all-time high.

York’s Park and Ride network recorded 398,000 journeys in August alone, the highest monthly total since 2019.

A recent customer survey found overall satisfaction at 94 per cent, with users rating the service nine out of 10 for journey time and cleanliness.

Stephen Moyle, general manager of First Bus in York, said: "These are stellar results and recognise the effort our team makes every day to deliver reliable journeys, and the investment we continue to make in the network."

Passenger numbers have grown by nearly nine per cent compared to last year, with the Monk’s Cross site the most popular during the newly extended hours.

Cllr Kate Ravilious, executive member for transport at City of York Council, said: "We’re proud that York’s Park and Ride network is the biggest in the UK and continues to see excellent growth and feedback from passengers."
