Youngsters are being invited to explore filmmaking, coding and animation at this year’s Aesthetica Film Festival in York.
The festival, which runs from November 4 to 8, will transform the city into a creative hub for filmmakers, artists, game developers and audiences from around the world.
A special family-friendly programme is being offered this year to inspire children and young people to learn through hands-on activities.
Cherie Federico, director of the Aesthetica Film Festival, said: "At Aesthetica, we believe creativity is fundamental to young people’s futures.
"It develops skills, builds confidence and opens up new ways of thinking.
"Through film, storytelling, games and digital technology, we want young people to discover what they can do, while seeing the incredible range of creative careers that could be open to them."
The festival’s Kids’ Workshops will introduce children aged seven to 14 to filmmaking, coding, animation and performance.
Younger participants can learn about camera operation, sound and direction, while older children can explore game development and character creation.
In addition to workshops, the Radical Listening Immersive Media Arts Trail will feature three major public artworks in York.
The trail includes an inflatable installation at York Theatre Royal and an illuminated soundscape in King’s Square.
