A FIRE has been deliberately started at a popular public garden in a North Yorkshire coastal town.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Scarborough was called to Glen Gardens in Filey at 5.05pm last night (Monday, October 5).
The service said industrial sized toilet rolls had been set alight on a pathway.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Crews used a bucket of water to extinguish the fire.
"Details were passed to the police."
