A therapist from York has added a European championship to her racketball resume.

Marie Elcock, a senior therapist at York’s TRTrehab, won the title of 2026 European Ladies Doubles Racketball Champion alongside teammate Diane Fenwick at the inaugural European Racketball Championships in Sheffield.

Ms Fenwick also took bronze in the Ladies Over-50s, while Ms Elcock claimed silver in the Ladies Over-40s.

Iwona Michalska, founder of TRTrehab, said: "Marie is a champion, but not just because of the medals.

"She spends her days helping other people become stronger, healthier and more capable.

"She doesn't just talk about resilience.

"She lives it."

The latest win follows Ms Elcock’s recent title as the 2026 British National Women's Over-40s Racketball Champion.

In 2024, she represented England in Squash Masters, winning every match she played.

Ms Elcock also lives with a heart condition while continuing to compete at an elite level.
