AN off licence was linked to numerous crimes, including the sale of Nitrous Oxide and a “serious assault” – according to a police report.
On Tuesday, members of Bradford Council’s Licensing Panel will meet to decide whether to strip the alcohol licence from Jimmy’s on Great Horton Road.
The shop was shut due to a three-month closure notice imposed by a court in August.
But the licensing panel will decide whether to permanently strip Ali Ahmadi Mustafa, the licence holder for the business, of his licence to sell alcohol.
The request has been made by West Yorkshire Police, which says the shop had “a long history of offences” before the closure.
Police say seven criminal incidents have taken place since April, when Mr Mustafa took over the licence.
Located just a short distance from the University of Bradford Campus, Jimmy’s was recognisable for its window decals that depict well known fictional criminals, including Tony Soprano, Tony Montana (Scarface), Tommy Shelby and the Joker, playing poker.
The report by police says: “The premises has a long history of offences and has, under the current Licence Holder and Designated Premises Supervisor, been found to be involved in the storage and sale of illicit tobacco, Nitrous Oxide which is a Class C drug, and unlicensed medical products on several occasions in 2026.
“It is also linked to disorder and a violent assault. It has also been found that the premises has breached licensing conditions. These offences will be fully put before the Panel in a hearing.”
A timetable of recent criminal offences is included in the report.
· April 19, 2026. Allegation of disorder at the premises.
· June 5 - Seizure of illicit tobacco, nitrous oxide, illicit cigarettes and unlicensed medical products. Discovery of a hidden system to conceal illicit goods.
· June 25 - Seizure by HMRC and police of suspected nonduty paid alcohol.
· June 28 - Report of disorder outside the premises.
· July 7 - Seizure by the police of illicit tobacco and nitrous oxide.
· July 9 - Serious assault linked to staff at the premises and breach of a licensing condition
· July 21 - Report of disorder outside the premises and continued breach of a licensing condition.
· August 20 - The Premises was visited and a 24-hour closure notice was issued prior to an application for a full Closure Order being put before the Court on August 21. During the execution of the Closure Notice, several cans of nitrous oxide were found behind the till area in direct control of staff.
The panel meets in City Hall on Tuesday.
