Fast food chains seem to be obsessed with mozzarella.

Whether it be sticks, fries or beef, they have all had a go at it.

I'm not usually a fan but with KFC just up the road from our office, I thought I would give it a go.

The Mozzamelt Millionaire Meal consists of a burger, loaded fries and a 'dirty shake'.

The main set piece featured a Zinger fillet, topped with a fried mozzarella patty, spicy salsa, a cheese slice and lettuce, all sandwiched in a glazed sesame bun.

It was certainly not the healthiest meal in the world but a nice treat that is worth trying before it vanishes on November 8.

Lunchtime meal

I had seen the deal advertised on social media.

The picture with the cheese exploding from the patty worked, fair play to KFC's advertising team, they sucked me in.

To say it was a Monday lunchtime, the Odsal branch was pretty quiet.

I wasn't complaining though as it meant my meal was served in super quick time.

80s tunes from Duran Duran and Kylie Minogue were blaring around the restaurant as I was faced with the three sizable items that I still can't get out of my head.

The dirty fries were my favourite (Image: Newsquest)

Loaded fries go down a treat

I started on the 'dirty fries' which I enjoyed the most.

The classic KFC chips were complemented with popcorn chicken and a tasty cheese and barbecue sauce.

Onto the burger - and the mozzarella patty did add flavour to the already succulent chicken fillet.

The salsa sauce was slightly disappointing though.

Dirty shake better as a dessert

The shake was a bit too intense.

It felt like I was consuming a dessert whilst tucking into my burger.

A soft drink would have been preferable.

Although as something for afters, it was a good blend of chocolate and caramel with biscuit crumbs on the top.

In terms of the price, for what you get, I don't think £13.49 was actually too bad.

Put it this way, with the amount of calories consumed, tea wasn't really needed.
