Young people will mark World Food Day 2026 with a morning of hands-on cooking and learning.
Pupils from the Bradford district will gather at the FoodSavers Cookery School in Darley Street Market on Friday, October 16, from 10am to 12pm for the event.
The session is part of a global celebration promoting good food, sustainable agriculture and universal access to nutritious meals.
Councillor Ian Walker, executive member for neighbourhoods and communities at Bradford Council, said: "FoodSavers Cookery School is doing brilliant work with children and families across the district, giving them practical skills and confidence that can make a real difference in their everyday lives.
"World Food Day is a great opportunity to celebrate that work while inspiring young people to think about healthy eating, food waste and sustainability."
This year’s theme, ‘Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow,’ is led by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization and encourages communities to explore how innovation, education and practical action can help tackle global hunger while protecting our planet.
The event is a collaboration with Living Well Schools and will welcome six groups of primary-aged children and home-educated learners.
They will take part in interactive cookery workshops exploring food waste, sustainability and global food security.
