A County Durham optician is supporting its community by sponsoring a youth football team and offering players and coaches eye care.
Specsavers Consett on Middle Street is supporting Consett Bedlam under-16s, part of Consett Juniors AFC.
The sponsorship provides 15 new Specsavers-branded kits and free eye tests for the team’s staff and coaches.
Abirul Sultan, director at Specsavers Consett, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring our local boys’ team.
"We think it’s a brilliant way to support our town and local community.
"We hope the players, staff and families can make use of their eye tests as part of looking after their eye health, both on and off the pitch.
"We hope to see them in the store soon and wish them all the very best for the season ahead."
Players under 16 already qualify for free NHS-funded eye tests, but the sponsorship extends the offer to coaches and club staff.
