New Parenting Network Launches Monthly Meet-ups to Tackle Isolation Across Harrogate

Mumbler Meets Harrogate group will host its next monthly session on

Thursday 16 October 2026 at The Place, located inside The Crown Hotel. The initiative provides an accessible, welcoming space for new parents, those recently relocated to North Yorkshire, and caregivers looking to forge local connections.

Organisers established the scheme in response to growing regional concerns surrounding social isolation following childbirth or structural family moves into the district. The sessions are entirely free to attend and operate on an informal walk-in basis.

Combating Local Loneliness

The meet-ups operate as a grassroots branch of the wider Harrogate Mumbler network, which acts as a digital information and activity directory for regional families. By moving the platform offline, the group hopes to create a reliable physical support ecosystem within the town.

Gemma, the regional coordinator for Mumbler Meets Harrogate, explained the core purpose behind the launch.

Gemma:

Being a parent or caregiver can be an incredibly exciting time, but it can also feel surprisingly lonely. We wanted to create something simple, accessible and welcoming where parents don’t have to feel like they need to know anyone before they arrive. Mumbler Meets is about making those first connections, getting offline and helping families feel part of their local community.

Event Details and Registration

The upcoming assembly commences at 10:00am on Thursday 16 October, with subsequent events locked into the diary on a monthly schedule at the Crown Hotel site. While admission is completely free of charge, attendees are encouraged to register their arrival details in advance to assist with venue capacities.

Full registration portals and further regional family support guides can be accessed directly via the official Harrogate Mumbler Community Platform, or by contacting the event administration team at gemma@mumbler.co.uk
