A concert band fresh from a sell-out European tour is calling for support closer to home.
Generation Groove, based in Haxby, recently toured Belgium, Holland, and Germany, performing modern and popular classics.
The band relies on ticket sales and donations to keep running, and is now seeking sponsorship from regional businesses.
Diane Beal, founder and band leader, said: "When the band was established in 2002, there were three generations of one family taking part, hence the 'generation' in the name.
"But to us it is more than that.
"In the past we've been helped by generous donations from organisations like York Vikings Rotary Club, but we would really welcome ongoing sponsorship from businesses in the region who value and support the work we do."
The group also offers free instruments and tuition to schoolchildren in Haxby and is also looking for a permanent rehearsal space.
