Motorists are facing lengthy delays on the M62 this evening as congestion continues to build between Gildersome and Tingley.
Traffic monitoring services are reporting severe delays of around 31 minutes on the eastbound carriageway between J27 for the M621 at Gildersome and J28 for the A650 Bradford Road at Tingley.
Average speeds have fallen to just 5mph, with queues stretching across the affected section of motorway during the evening rush hour.
The delays were first reported at 5.33pm on Monday (October 5).
Drivers travelling towards Leeds and Wakefield are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys as congestion continues to worsen.
No details of any incident causing the delays have yet been reported.
