Temperatures are expected to drop below seasonal averages in Bradford over the next two weeks.

According to forecasts from BBC Weather and the GFS weather model, the area will see cooler-than-usual conditions, with lows of 5C and highs of 16C, below the typical October range of 10C to 15C.

In Leeds, temperatures are predicted to be slightly milder, with lows of 6C and highs of 17C over the same period.

Met office warnings have been issued in regard to El Niño, a natural weather pattern which threatens to bring about cold snaps across the country.

A spokesperson for the Met Office explained: "Through the latter part of the winter, following a peak in El Nino, the stratospheric Polar Vortex can become weaker, leading to an increased chance of Sudden Stratospheric Warming events unfurling, increasing the potential for cold weather."
