A County Durham tip has been forced to close due to strong winds.
The Tudhoe Household Waste Recycling Centre on Tudhoe Industrial Estate in Spennymoor, is currently shut due to health and safety concerns.
The temporary closure (as of 1pm on Monday, October 5) means residents planning to visit the site will need to use an alternative recycling centre until it is safe to reopen.
In an update, the council said: "Tudhoe Household Waste Recycling Centre has been forced to close in the interest of health and safety due to strong winds."
The council has not said when the site will reopen.
The council is expected to review the closure as conditions change and reopen the site when it is safe.
High winds can make recycling centres dangerous because loose materials and debris may be blown around open yards
